Don’t let the simple website fool you — ElecTel is a hidden gem. Their deposit and loan rates are excellent, and they’ve been around since 1969 with NCUA insurance since 1985. They have strong financial strength ratings and serve around 7,500 members, which really shows in how personal the service feels (yes, I did my research before joining). I’m in western North Carolina, nowhere near a branch, but joining was easy. I handled everything online — never even picked up the phone. Mikiah guided me through the process via DocuSign and was absolutely fabulous. She felt like my own personal online banking rep and continues to be available to assist with questions, account maintenance, etc. Their app and online banking are intuitive and full-featured — honestly better than what I’ve experienced with big national banks. I don’t need pretty, just give me something that works. Looking forward to continuing to grow my relationship with ElecTel. Sources: Weiss Credit Union Ratings & NCUA

Incompetence at it's finest, no one's money is secure with this institution. And I do mean not a single soul. So everyone knows there absolutely zero checks and securities when deductions go through. So if you write a check the business or person has total control of your account. This institution does absolutely zero checking to see if even the correct name is on the account. They just deduct, as well as not contact you to let you know of the issue till 7 months later. I don't know about everyone else, but I work hard for my money. This bank is disgusting from the top to the bottom. It needs negative stars.

Trying to get a simple cashier's check turns into a headache if you aren't RIGHT in Raleigh. They don't work with SECU, or any credit union anymore? Completely unhelpful! 4 hrs from home trying to buy a tractor with my own money!

everybody know fraud happens?World's fullest scams. here an electel it's your fault. If you get scamed. My wife's bank account got hacked. Vice president cheryl graves contacted me yesterday to inform me of that. They are not going to do anything for an investigation, we have to go about it, oh your own. Vice president cheryl graves wants to freeze my account until the investigation is over. I got enough out to last me till next paycheck . I don't understand why the fraud department didn't catch this. Long story short, stay away from electil federal and stay away from vice president sheryl graves. cause your money goes in, but it doesn't come out
