UPDATE- all the notifications have stopped and my credit card account is back on autopay. here’s to hoping their push to grow will result in more fee free atms and a better way to look them up. i’ve been with OUCU for 15 years but am seriously considering closing my checking, savings, and credit card accounts even though that will be an awful task. this used to be a great bank to work with. despite their small footprint, i stayed with them through my moves around SE Ohio. they recently migrated online platforms/ systems and it’s horrible. i get a text message AND an email every single time a debit or credit card is used. i have called & messages them multiple times and was asked for patience. it was months of this! my credit card has been on autopay for the statement balance for years. this new system stopped that without warning. i was issued a finance charge despite catching this error mere days after my balance was due. they were not willing to remove the finance charge. between that and the severe lack of no fee atms, find another institution to do business with. what a shame!

I have been a customer for over 10+ years. Currently on hold for the 2nd time in an hour and have been waiting over 10 minutes. Every representative is sending me in circles when I do pick up. I’m do disappointed because I used to love banking with OUCU. This has been a disaster and I’m only trying to check on the status of a debit card

I applied for a loan im July 2025. It is now the end of September and it's still not processed entirely. They made sure to take my payment but has not made sure I have what I needed to get tags. There have been endless problems, but not one staff member has picked up a phone to call me to tell me about the problem. They wait until I send an email to ask what's going on. THEN they tell me there's a problem. It's been the worst loan process I have ever had. I dont recommend applying for a loan there

I have banked with OUCU for 25 years, since I had my first job at an OU dining hall at 16. The last couple of years, things have slowly gone downhill. Recently, my debit card had a problem and wasn’t working. After I spent more than 30 minutes trying to get through all the prompts and get to a person, I ended up driving from Glouster to Athens to get this resolved. When I described the problem I had with their automated system, they actually suggested I could go to one of their Teller Machines that was closer and asked to talk to someone from it….. I don’t think I should have to drive anywhere to handle something with my bank. I’m doing my research and will be switching banks soon.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
