GCU has been amazing. My whole family uses them. My mom opened an account for me when I was 4 and I have loved GCU's services ever since I took it over. They have helped me with loans when no one else would(I'm so beyond greatful) and my money is safe. They deserve the best ratings!

Great people great service Great loans and it was run by members and they were never sold out and the community bank that’s what people really wanted to see in the community bank local convenience and it’s hard to find those now because now Geauga Credit Union Inc is changing to 7/17 Credit Union from Warren, Ohio that is branched out to different areas and so there’s no more Geauga County Bank anymore not local now change to Corporation banks. I’m very disappointed. The three stars is for the staff but nothing to the board members that stab the members in the back to switch to a different bank and not to have the member vote for it and agreed to do that so they did it automatically without us knowing so it’s pretty sad how the board members do it so I would not be going to 7/17 when they come and take over the bank. Don’t be fooled and foolish about the switching company and to members make sure you do your homework before march.

I called to set up an appointment to get a couple thousand dollar loan. I told the people that I was taking off work to come in for an appointment to get a car loan. I was told to just come in. I figured since I have 150k worth of equity that a 2 thousand dollar loan wouldn't be a big deal. As soon as I got there I was signed up for an account, before even being asked about the loan. I was then told that I had to have the car present for them to take pictures. That would have been solid information when I called and said I was taking off work to come in. Not sure how I am supposed to get the guy selling the car to drive it 45 minutes for this bank to take pictures. It was a big waste of time. Then after the fact I had to cancel an account that I didn't want and shouldn't had to sign up for before being given the picture information. A little communication goes a long way. I just ended up and bought a different car with cash so I didn't have to deal with this headache.

Bank somewhere else. Paper heavy not efficient. I called asked for a payoff on a loan paid that amount then they pulled money out of the account stating I still had one cent on the loan but still pulled nearly $200 for to cover that one cent. It is called a payoff for a reason! Now I'm told I have to request to get money back as a check that never shojld have been pulled. The only reason they dont get 1 star is because they pick up the phone when you call and have sent me paperwork I have requested timely.

I now live out of state but have kept GCU as my bank. Everyone is so helpful and awesome. They always go above and beyond.
