I am extremely disappointed with the way CODE Credit Union has handled my account. I have been a member for several years, and throughout 2025 I experienced multiple layoffs. Despite these financial hardships, I always communicated in advance if a payment might be late and did my best to stay on top of my obligations. My most recent layoff occurred on December 18, with no opportunity to return. I secured a new job beginning January 1 and proactively informed CODE Credit Union that my first paycheck would not be issued until January 28. I also clearly communicated that my car payment, which is due on January 25, would be made on January 28. To help me get through the three-week gap without income, my mother provided me with some money for basic living expenses. However, when I checked my account last night, I discovered that all of those funds had been transferred to my car loan—even though the payment is not due until January 25. When I contacted the credit union, I was told that a collections representative named Molly transferred the funds simply because she saw a deposit. No prior notice was given, and no consideration was made for my financial situation or the fact that the payment was not yet due. As a result, I now have no money for essential living expenses. This situation has caused significant hardship and could have been avoided through proper communication and professional handling of my account. Unless this payment is immediately reversed, I will be switching banks. This experience has been extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

Their customer service is abysmal. Their website is impossible. Just trying to make a payment is complicated. However the worst is when I go to make a payment, the only option I have is to make the current payment and the following month's payment. In other words, they try to extort 2 payments from me. If I could switch my car loan to anyplace else, I would.

These guys have been amazing! They serviced my auto loan only a few days before I moved out of state - it’s been so easy to work them across the miles! Thanks Code Credit Union, it’s been a pleasure and I will definitely seek you out when I am ready to buy again!!

I’m personally disgusted at this point when it comes to their professionalism, returning phone calls , adding on fees extra overdraft without touching your card , then say oh well u don’t know how this works , when it comes to a persons own money customer service ain’t no where how it was when my family banked with them years ago I will call the bbb over this matter because it’s ridiculous
