My credit union is inq Detroit, this location is a service center. I'm in a wheelchair, plus sized at that. I had issues getting inside the security doors. Not sure of the ladies name who waited on me. She was not pleasant. I asked is she could get me a manager to see if I could get permission to use the drive thru. She gave me a cold stare and said no. I have to be a member of UT. You are not handicapped accessible. Shame on you.

I called in on a Friday asking for a skip pay payment or even just to move my payment date(due to moving jobs)the woman over the phone said it was all set. Come Monday payment still withdrew, I called as soon as I noticed it in the morning, the woman that answered the phone didn’t even try to rectify the situation and stated I can only do skip payments certain times a year and asked who I spoke to. At this point I don’t recall her name but I let her know the time I called. I call back to turn autopay off due to not being able to stop it yourself on the app, I’m met with another lack luster attitude and then I’m transferred to the wrong person. I end up going into the branch and they literally acted like I was inconveniencing them(there wasn’t even any other customers in the lobby). Asked if I was the person who called and I explained it was the wrong person I was transferred to, and they’re like “oh it’s still doing that” “I need to change that”. Customer service has been hit or miss over the years I’ve been with the credit union, I don’t go in often at all and will def be avoiding it. I’m very disappointed with this entire situation.

Dad and mom 20 year members, son has 6x amount in UTCU savings requested for credit card limit. 848 credit score. Joint credit card application denied because I am retired without a pension. Logic from Bev, “you might leave the country and default on any outstanding balance.” Dumb statement, dumb person. Closed my account immediately. Plenty of other banks to do business with.

I cannot get over how amazing Bev has been! I applied for an auto loan and she went to bat for me with the dealership who kept trying to play me. I am so thankful for her! The bank itself has amazing rates and I love that everything can be done online as well. That is hard to find with credit unions.

I have been a member of UT/MUO FCU for almost 20 years since I was an undergrad. They have helped me finance cars, gave me loans during Christmas time to help out. The workers are VERY nice! Bev, Teresa etc... My only issue is that recently I had some credit issues due to no fault of my own and needed a small loan. Denied. Applied for a car loan (for a used, cheap car)... denied. And I'm like y'all don't take into account I've been a member for 20 years? I've moved to 4 states and haven't lived in Ohio since 2012 and I'm STILL a loyal member. Do you know how hard it is to have a bank out of state that closes at 4pm? I rely on shared branching (Don't have to) and get all of my major paychecks deposited into this account and it just doesn't seem to be appreciated. I finally left and closed my account... after being a member almost 20 years.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
