I have banked with the DPS for many years. I have, in the last few years, become very disappointed with their customer service. Yes, it used to be nice 10 to 15 years ago. Now, we don't even know who we're communicating with because no one signs their names to their emails. Wonder why that is? There have been many times over the years I've needed small loans and it was never a problem. Now, it's totally different. We don't know who we are even communicating with...whoever the "loan officer" is, is gone almost all of the time. My son just recently tried to get a small loan and was told this "loan officer" would be out for two weeks. It still took almost 3 weeks before my son got any word about the loan. His request was denied even after receiving an email telling him: "You can apply for an unsecured loan. However, the minimum is usually $1,000. We could look to refinance the other Christmas loan into the new one (what he has asked if he could do), if you are not needing the entire amount. You can log onto your online account and apply that way or I have attached a loan application." I asked for a small loan recently and specifically asked if they could just "refinance" the same "Christmas" loan as my sons. I asked for the loan on a Monday. Tuesday they came back telling me "the loan officer was out until Thursday." Thursday came and went and I heard nothing. I emailed Friday hoping to hear it was approved. I never heard back until the following Monday. They denied it. It just shouldn't take days to refinance a loan. I know because for years this is what I did every 6 months. It was instantly done, which gave me a small lump sum which was deposited into my account. It was great and helped tremendously. In the past few years and with a pretty much all new "crew" on board there, they refuse to help us. I have just recently moved and needed a very small loan for start-up deposits on utilities, it was denied (my payments come out automaticaly so they get their money each month no problem), due to my credit and debt-to-income ratio which was no different than it was for the "Chistmas" loan which was "approved" for both my son and I instantly. Now we get denied. We've both paid down the "Christmas" loans and all we asked for was enough to bring it back up to the $1000.00 amount. We don't get it. Also, you'll see this on their website: "Enjoy free checking with no monthly service fees, balance or requirements." They now charge $3.00 a month to mail your monthly statement to you. I've never been charged by anyone I've banked with, a fee to mail me my statement. I still can't get a loan even though I've always paid them back and neither can my son.

I've been a member since about 1998 and I have always received exceptional service. Very small credit Union so they know their members by name. Another great plus.
