Has gone down hill. Loan officer for our car loan was hard to communicate with and did not follow up. Now getting a credit card, I’ve had to call twice to checkup on the application. It’s been 5 days and they have not reached out. I call and the customer service agent says oh looks like the underwriter has some questions. Oh cool…they could have called instead of me just waiting. No follow up from SELCO. At this point I wouldn’t recommend any of the local credit unions.

Employee was able to help me fix an issue with my card quickly and get a replacement same day within 20 minutes. They were very pleasant to talk to and I felt respected. I've been banking here for almost 15 years and have never had a problem with this bank.

Have a 7 year CD with them. They harass you every 6 months, threatening you with fees, if you do not take time out of your busy day to call them to let them know you're still alive. No other bank/credit union I have ever had a fixed CD with anywhere else in US has ever done this. Manager said she tried to talk to upper management about this (she said they also harass ppl with IRAs every 6 months!), as she is constantly getting upset ppl calling her on this, and she said upper management won't budge. So: A credit union takes your money as a long term CD, making money off of you, then threatens to charge you every 6 month for inactivity?? AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE. There is zero laws in Oregon in which a financial institution attempts to charge fees to customers with fixed accounts which they are already making money off of! They CHOOSE to do this to their customers. They do not care about wasting the time of/ upsetting their customers? OMG, one star.

Between my husband and I and family, we have been members of Selco for decades. While everything has gone great over the years, recently trying to get through to someone on the 800 number is a very long wait. At least 30 minutes on hold and it has been upwards of 56 minutes! Just to talk to somebody! If you need anything done with your account, you’re gonna be put on hold again for at least another 20 minutes! As we now live out of state, we can’t just walk into a branch. Please, please work on this. We have contemplated moving a majority of our business to another bank due to this.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
