The big banks like Wells Fargo and Bank of America are legally responsible to produce the most profits for their share holders. Bethlehem 1st is a not-for-profit credit union owned by members. They work with you and for you. No gotchas. Fair loan rates. Competitive savings. Excellent officers and tellers. Decent online banking. Bethlehem 1st is celebrating its 90th anniversary, so they must be doing things right. The big guys may have more of bells and whistles, but try getting help over the phone or any other method. Been there, done that, won't get fooled again.

This is the worst bank in the Lehigh Valley in my experience. The limits placed on your daily spending and cash withdrawals are nonsense. I have tried to use the remote deposit because they claim it’s suppose to be convenient and quick. Well, that’s not the case. I have had 3 deposits accepted and then they suddenly disappear. The manager, Shannon, hides from phone calls and rarely has answers for the mistakes made. They can’t even follow the timelines outlined in their policies.

Terrible policies in place which are restrictive and time consuming. If you want to feel like you live in North Korea and are unable to access your own money then this is the bank for you. If you are a fan of wasting your time on the phone or inefficiency then I highly recommend this institution. It’s not the tellers, but the policies in place. Management didn’t even call me when requested to do so.

Such a great group of tellers and employees. Easy to work with and they are willing to help with all your needs. Their fraud detection program is excellent and alerts you within minutes if they feel you had a fraudulent purchase. I wouldn’t bank anywhere else.

Great people offering simple, basic savings, checking, and lending services to the groups they cover. If you have an education affiliation in the Bethlehem area, you probably qualify. My experiences with tellers, loan officer, and even the CEO were friendly. I’m glad this is my other bank…and maybe someday my only bank.
