Genuinely one of the worst financial institutions I’ve had to deal with. I recently refinanced my car loan through them and have had nothing but issues with little to no resolve. The first two months, my external transfers from another institution to my car loan were cancelled or rejected. When inquiring about why this happened, my primary bank (who I’d had forever with no issues on external transfers) said they had no record of rejecting a transfer and that it must be on Franklin Mints end. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes, the Franklin Mint representative told me it wasn’t their doing and that they could provide no further help. Fast forward to now, I switched my primary bank to Capital One due to moving. I went through the process of adding the new external account and verifying its credibility in order to pay my car loan. The Capital One account was verified, I attempted to make my car payment and it said it was rejected. I then attempted to make the payment again, which was “held for review” with a notification that I would receive a call before anything was completed. I never received a call, and BOTH transfers were taken from my account equaling over $1000. Once again, I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes, the customer service representative (although nice) informed me that neither transfer could be cancelled and I would have to wait for BOTH payments to be withdrawn from my account to request a refund. She then continued to say “i mean if you don’t have the funds, it’ll just decline”. The funds were available, it’s not about the finances it’s about the absolute unethical practices of the institution. What if the finances weren’t there and it took my account into the negatives? On top of that, they cannot refund electronically but will send a check that may take a week or more to be delivered. After expressing my frustrations, the customer service representative said “if you saw the notification that it was being held for review, you could have just cancelled it”. Why would I cancel a payment that was not supposed to be posted until I was contacted by the institution¿ Long story short, avoid this institution at all costs.

I've been a member with fmfcu for a very long time. This evening I had a terrible phone transaction with multiple customer service associates. JOHN especially was incredibly impatient. He didn't want to listen. He wanted to throw me on hold just like the other customer service representatives did. I plan to go to the call center headquarters to lodge a complaint and potentially express my 1st amendment right to petition my greviences against JOHN and anyone else involved in this terrible transaction.

I just spoke with Tim at the Member Service Center. I am a Senior, and have "issues" with memory. I had lots of questions about my card, my account and fees. Tim was extremely patient, kind and helpful. I appreciated his help very much. Sometimes I feel that the level of Customer Service one receives these days is less than optimal, but - not today! Today I had a wonderful experience in speaking with Tim, and I am grateful for his friendly manner. Tim is a "keeper" ! Thanks, Tim! Kathleen

I absolutely LOVE the Franklin Mint. My only issue with them was when I was in college and there was no shared service center near and I had to use a bank (ew). I was with them for my entire life. I recently closed my Sun East FCU account due to their abysmal customer service and failure to admit to their errors. Unlike them, the Franklin Mint usually catches errors they make before I do and they have called to let me know and APOLOGIZED FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. I've NEVER had a financial institution show that much class and self awareness. I'm not sure what is with all of the 1 star reviews because this credit union is great! Also a plus it has an A+ rating with the BBB despite never having sought accreditation. For reference, Sun East has an F.

This poor excuse for a financial institution is the absolute worst st customer service and accountability. After a system error on their end I was the victim of a duplicate charge which was not unsubstantial and after discovering it I attempted to call them to no avail, sat on hold for the better part of the day so I went to the branch and was basically told oh well, they're working on it but nothing we can do. They'll take your money but they won't give it back even though it's their fault!
