Online banking will not work even with multiple attempts at fixing. Phone app is useless. Can’t purchase anything that bills outside of the US with card. They do not offer tap to purchase cards. Debit cards are flimsy and break easily. Employees are rude. Impossible to get any kind of loan regardless how long you have been customers of theirs.

First time I’ve been to this branch. I don’t even know what to say. I was repulsed by the smell that came out of the side office after someone opened the door. I was dry heaving as I was leaving. So unprofessional and disgusting.

I have multiple accounts with Pennstar including a savings account (known as share account for credit unions), my car loan (was by far the best rate I could find), and a Holiday Account (helps me save for the holiday season - plus a high yield!) My fiancee and I also have a joint checking account to save for our wedding. Because we are out of town, we use the online banking system. They have a new App "Pennstar FCU" that has a pretty nice user interface - available in the App/Google play store. The staff is able to help us over the phone if we have ever have any issues. The management and staff very much values professionalism and service to their members. Most of the staff has worked there over 10 years. There are many benefits of membership, but I would say that Pennstar is not able to help everyone. For example, they are closed membership. You yourself or a close family member must work at a company that is within their field of membership. If you aren't sure if you are eligible, they might be able to go over the field of membership with you. They also focus on service to their members. If something doesn't fit that value and they aren't able to do it well - they won't do it. Which is actually a good thing in my opinion.

I am newer to Pennstar, but I have to say, I could definitely tell that they had my best interest in mind! Being new to the area, I was looking for a financial institution with a nice and knowledgeable staff, and Pennstar definitely goes above and beyond! They made my car buying experience so easy and were my partners in looking for a new vehicle and worked with me through the whole process! Any time I need another loan, I will absolutely be going to them! They always have quick and pleasant service there, and I highly recommend it!

I have been a member of Pennstar for almost 30 years. I have always had positive experiences with the CEO and all of the staff. There is always a warm, friendly and professional atmosphere and I am always treated with respect, professionalism and courtesy. I have multiple accounts and have had many loans there. Their rates are competitive and their fees minimal. The service is efficient and expedient, I never wait in long lines as you may at other financial institutions. I represent 290 employees and I always encourage them to join Pennstar. Thank you Pennstar for your impeccable service.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
