I had a very unprofessional experience at this branch with Branch Manager Kelly McClaud. On July 8, 2025, between 12:45–1:10 PM, I came in with my pregnant daughter to inquire about a loan. While we were sitting in the waiting area, Ms. McClaud yelled from her office, “What do you want?” — no greeting, no professionalism, just loud and dismissive. This interaction can be verified on camera: you’ll see me sitting quietly before getting up to walk to her office after being called out across the room. I was asked to send my tax documents and paystubs via email, which I did promptly—but I never received confirmation or follow-up. To this day, I still don’t know if I was approved. I ended up going with my credit union in New York, where I was approved instantly and treated with professionalism and respect. I’m someone who strongly believes in holding people accountable for how they treat others. We live in a world where your reputation can be damaged instantly—especially when people feel unheard. Treat others how you want to be treated. This experience was disappointing and should be addressed by someone in leadership. “Proof that professionalism still exists—just not at this branch.” Attached Tanya Dee

Terrible! They ran my credit, I gave them all my information, my credit score is very good, almost 740, I met all the requirements, and in the end, the credit manager denied me the loan without a reason. Don't waste your time here.

Terrible customer service. I applied for a loan and the loan manager never had the decency of calling me back. I received a letter in the mail to find out they couldn’t do the loan and I don’t know why!!

I'm not quite sure of the name of the woman who helped my 16 year old daughter open her first checking account recently but she was so incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful. She made sure she had everything set up before we left, including the app on her phone so she could check her bank account. I would highly recommend this credit union to anyone. In fact I actually transferred my funds to this credit union recently after setting up her account so I could have an account with a local bank. Nothing like being able to deal with a real person when you need to. Thank you.

I've had some good experiences with Penn East Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) in the past. But when I look at my present credit card bill for their past 2021 & 2022 holiday rate. I noticed I have been paying a small amount of interest each month, but the Holiday Credit Card Balance don"t seem to go down. Normally around when I make a big purchase, I pay around that amount when my bill comes. So basically I bought a $1048.34 iPhone in 2021 that none of my principal I paid went toward it. I called PEFCU and the person I talked with put me on hold to ask another person about my question. Then hung up on me, Called back, someone answered and then hung up. Called again and got someone else and somehow I got to Linda who seemed to agree with me. But the bottom line was I couldn't get an expert on the credit card or issue resolved. I'd rather pay the normal rate, than be charged more in the long run. Not sure what seems like there doing is legal, but I am figuring out my next step. I will not use me credit card during this years Holiday Credit Card Rate. Nor do I recommend other use theirs till this is resolved. Brian from Penn East Federal Credit Union called and explained how the Holiday rate works. He also explained that if I make a purchase during the Holiday Rate Special and want to put a payment on those charges. I can tell them to designate payment toward those purchases. Instead of the payment all going towards the higher rate. I appreciate Brian calling and resolving my concern.
