westerly community credit union was my first ever bank account that I have opened and I have been with this bank for 21 years. I have recently just decided to close my account due to a lot of limitations that this bank puts on my account as well as the rude staff at the Wakefield location. I had tried to close my account months ago, and the lady at the desk, Kerri, had told me that the account would’ve been closed after 1 last transaction and coming up now on two months later I was getting fees and charges to my bank account when this should’ve never happened in the first place because my account should’ve been closed like I was told it was going to be. I then called and spoke with one of the staff at Wakefield location, either a lady named Susan or Shannon I am not too sure, and had asked questions and she was laughing at my questions and very rude and then I had asked if she remembered who I spoke with in September and told me that she no longer works there, but I just went today to close my account and she still works there so she also lied to me. Overall, customer service at the end of the day is the most important thing, and I believe that staff member should not be laughing or giggling over questions about their banking choice, in which picking a banking company is very important to someone. I do not recommend this branch at all and i am super disappointed with how this had to play out.

I’ve been a loyal customer for 13 years and WCCU has always had great services/customer service. Until recently.. they recently outsourced their credit card services to some company by the name of “card service center” (which I’ve never heard of). The customer service and app/website interface is absolutely terrible. I got a WCCU credit card for the reason that I could deal with WCCU for the credit card, not some sketchy, generic company I know nothing about. After wasting hours with customer service, I was able to finally make a log in, which didn’t work on the app, so I had to log in and pay through the website. For some reason, the payment did not go through, which they only notified me through mail with a letter that looked like a scam. Now I’m charged a late fee and when I tried to log in to pay, I can’t. Customer service could not help me in any way. I’m very tech savvy as well. So now I’m stuck with a crappy credit card provider and a late fee I have to pay over the phone. If it didn’t hurt my credit score, I would just get rid of the card. Very disappointed at WCCU for trying to save a few dimes at the expense of customer satisfaction.

Extremely difficult to deal with when I had to close an old account. Very old fashion way of doing things.

I'm not a member, but I had to deal with this branch on a somewhat out-of-the-ordinary business matter. Staff was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Great experience!
