It’s almost as if they try to inconvenience their clients in every way. - Online banking terrible. You can’t even connect an external account to make payments on a loan. - If there’s an issues with your account, you better be able to visit them in person during banking hours, because for some reason they can’t verify anything over the phone. - Tried to make a payment on my dad’s credit card because I’m an authorized user and had made some purchases. However, SFFCU decided to block the payment which cost me a fine with SFFCU and a fine with the credit card company. When I called they were very unsympathetic and just said it’s policy to not allow payments for credit cards under others name, even though we even have the same last name. Would have been nice to have this mentioned at some point. I have never had this issue with any of my other banks. - “Closed” my account a couple months ago, but I’m still getting emails about my account status which lets me know it was never actually closed. I understand being a small credit union, but I bank with other local credit unions and have not had even an 1/8 of the issues I have had with SFFCU. Their processes and technology are dated and they seem to have no interest in bettering the product.

This is an updated review from my last one. I really appreciate Service First Federal Credit Union for reaching out after my previous review. It means a lot when a bank listens and takes action to make things right. Their follow-up showed genuine care and professionalism, and it restored my confidence in their service. Thank you for valuing your members and showing that customer care truly matters.

Service first FCU is so poor they can't even afford to fix the coin machine at the west side location. Now the other one at the 10th st location is also broke. They decided they weren't gonna fix the coin machine at the west side because its too "expensive". It's called not putting anything and everything into your coin machines. If the tellers cleaned the coin properly before putting it into the machine then it wouldn't brake. Ive been a teller for more then 5 years now and we have no issue with our coin machine. I come here because I've been banking at sfcu for over 10 years. Very frustrating and a huge waste of my time

I applied for a lease buy out with a representative. I told her from the start that my debt to income ratio was higher, 48.5%, with a $400 car payment but my credit score was good. I asked if she could tell me their dti ratio criteria but they couldn't (which I knew they couldn't but thought I would ask). I also asked that if I get denied for my dti ratio if she could check with a good down payment at the 84 month term I applied for if I could qualify and she said yes, she could check. So when the application was rejected she was super nasty and short with me. She didn't even offer to see if they could get me in line for my dti with a significant down payment. She brushed me off and got me off the phone quick. She made me feel horrible, worthless. I ended up leasing through Subaru and got a mid range Forester. The process was amazing. I hate the representative at Service First CU! You should not have a job! I am also not happy that my boyfriend would even suggest such a horrible company.
