We opened Kids Club savings accounts here a couple years ago for our children. Just received a letter that they are charging a "dormant account" fee, because there has not been enough activity (deposits or withdrawals). Looked at their statements and Avanti has already withdrawn $5/month in fees for the last 3 months. Really Avanti??? You are not content to let kids' money sit there??? I thought Kids Club accounts were supposed to encourage kids to save?? You are sending the opposite message here. Would you like to explain to a kindergartner why her savings account dropped from $32 to $17 over the course of one statement?? Or to a second grader why his dropped from $58 to $43 over the same statement period?? I'm sorry they don't have direct deposit, they're not quite old enough for a steady job yet. Parents with Kids Club accounts: if your kids are not depositing money regularly, make sure to go there every couple months and withdraw $5, then put it back in. Or just withdraw it and go buy ice cream. If you don't withdraw it, Avanti will for you.

Has gone downhill and customer service is not up to par. Being a member owned business, the board needs to be more transparent with what is really going on.

I was very dissatisfied with the unfortunate dealings with Avanti Credit Union. I spoke to a loan officer and expressed my disgust for the way they handled selling a repossessed vehicle. I spoke to the board members who did not seem very sincere with my problems. I was told to, "Give me a break" by the loan officer. I was also told by one of the board members that, "It would be best that you would not call our Loan Officer again because she was very upset, because one of our Board Members is a Police Officer in Watertown." I do not know what they meant by this, but overall I would give them a 0 out of 5. I would not deposit $.02 with this bank/"non-profit" (Non-taxable) credit union. That is my $.02... Why would you give these guys your money when they do not even pay for your local schools?!?
