They are falsely advertising mortgages and HELOC's. I went into the branch to speak to a mortgage loan specialist. She never told me that they are not giving mortgage loans. She encouraged me to apply. I am a highly qualified borrower with an extremely low DTI ratio at 12% and almost perfect credit score. They still turned me down. I know they have zero intentions to give mortgage loans because they didn't even ask for documentation. They will run your credit and waste your time (which may be illegal). Local credit unions are worst than the big banks now. Look at their responses to the bad reviews. There isn't any because they don't care.

Extremely disappointing experience at Alcoa Federal Credit Union. I came in fully prepared — strong income, documents in order, and everything they said they required. Instead of a clear answer, I got vague excuses, inconsistent information, and a tone that made me feel like I was being judged for something other than my application. As an African American female, I walked out feeling like I wasn’t given the same consideration other customers get. When you leave a lender feeling singled out or dismissed, something is seriously wrong with their process. I will not be returning, and I’d warn others to pay close attention to how they’re treated here.

3 stars only because the ATM is rarely operational. Most of the employees inside are friendly and helpful. I am always greeted when I arrive.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience today with the Alcoa Federal credit union in Maryville, Tennessee. I went there to do shared branching, and it turned out to be an extremely complicated transaction, through no fault of their own. The teller, Courtney, was kind, patient, gracious, professional, and went above and beyond in helping this transaction get completed. The other employees I encountered during my rather lengthy visit, were all very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend to any of my family and friends who are needing a location to conduct shared branching that they come here to get a membership. What an absolutely pleasant surprise. I am so glad I stopped in. Thank you, Courtney

Do you enjoy $ transfers that take a full week to complete? Preemptive overdraft fees for pending charges that never actually send you into the negative? Do you like paying out the a$$ to use an ATM that isn’t an Alcoa Tenn ATM? How about online banking and an app that both function like a 1989 sega genesis? If so, this is absolutely the place for you.
