I’ve been a customer of Amplify since before they were Amplify. The last 12 years I’ve not lived in the Austin area but continued to use their services. Banking online with Amplify is excellent. They don’t have the fanciest app or the most compatibility with third party connections, but their phone service is TOP NOTCH. I’ve not received better phone service from any other bank I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a few since moving away from Austin. Everything I’ve needed to do was easily accomplished over the phone with Amplify. I’ve purchased vehicles, a home, and made major account changes with no problems. They even reimburse the ATM fee since I’m not near a branch! I would absolutely recommend Amplify for everyday banking. Decent savings interest rate compared to normal banks. I only wish they had a high yield savings option!

Earlier this week, I visited Amplify Credit Union to close out the account of a deceased family member, and I was deeply impressed with the high level of quality service I received. Personal Banker Gabbi Wiltz went above and beyond in answering my questions and providing thoughtful guidance and support during a sensitive process. She even called me later to check in and she followed up with an email. She truly embodies quality customer service. That makes it all the more impressive that her last job had been with the IRS. With people like Gabbi working at Amplify , this credit union is a great place to do business. The branch is also clean and attractive, with good music, a welcoming atmosphere, and convenient free parking. Highly impressed.

I have multiple business accounts, including with Amplify. Amplify does not seem to be suited to serving business customers. It’s a non-holiday Tuesday and there is no method for transferring money from one business account to another without me physically driving from one location to another. There are no employees working in the commercial accounts department today and no one available to help me with a wire by phone. The instructions on their website for initiating external transfers is only for personal accounts and does not apply to commercial accounts. There is no information that I've been able to find that is relevant to my needs as a commercial banking customer. After two hours trying to get help by phone I’m being made to wait in a branch office for help to simply transfer money. I’ll be closing all accounts and recommend anyone needing support for their business banking needs to look elsewhere. UPDATE: After over an hour in the branch location to simply manually wire money to my external account, I learned from the VP of Commercial Banking (she called me while I was at the bank) that the three people I spoke to on the phone earlier today had all misinformed me. There were commercial team members working today, just none available to answer my simple questions about external transfers. It turns out that Amplify disabled external transfers for ALL commercial accounts, but they will enable external ACH for business customers upon request. The problem, again, was there was not a single person in the commercial banking department available to help me, nor has anyone returned the message I left over four hours ago stating my need to set up an external transfer. So, there was a solution, just no one aware of the solution who was available to help me over the course of half of a business day. It took the VP of Commercial Accounts to provide this simple (and common) information and only because I was there to close my accounts.

Worst experience I’ve ever had other than Bank of America, which says a lot! There is ZERO regard for customer service or helping clients, run, don’t walk away! I’ve had a mortgage both 1st and 2nd liens with Amplify for about 40 months. Recently, I scheduled my mortgage payments for Jan 16th. Because of MLK they didn’t process until the 20th & was charged around 100 in late fees. Everyone’s money is tight right now and when I called Amplify to explain, they rudely said they won’t do anything because they’ve already waived 2 late fees during my loan. To be clear, if I’ve had my loan for 40 months, that means 37 months have been paid as scheduled, so to deny the goodwill because I’ve had 2 other waivers during a 40-month span is the worst client focus I’ve ever seen! Furthermore, when you do ask them for a waiver, they act like you are asking them to donate a kidney! They interrogate you as to why and it’s very degrading and uncomfortable. I’ve learned my lesson and will be doing business with Frost next time I get a mortgage. What a clueless and horrible company Amplify is!

I just started banking with Amplify Credit Union this year (2025) with my business account, a non-profit I'm part of, and personally. I am very pleased with all my experiences so far!
