I had a wonderful banking experience at Velocity Credit Union downtown Austin. The teller Bryan was very nice and cool and created a very pleasant banking experience! After that I had an issue with a compromised account and Crystal Garza helped me very nicely and efficiently. A process which I was sure was going to be lengthy and painful was quick and painless thanks to Crystal. I am extremely grateful for the service and support I have recieved at Velocity CU downtown Austin!

Do not use this bank! Even though I let them know that I am in a foreign country, they randomly keep shutting down access to my account leaving me without any money on the other side of the world. I have had to stay up late because of the time difference to call them to try to resolve this, but it does not seem like it makes any difference. This has also caused me to be unable to pay some bills on time, which of course they will do nothing to resolve. This place has 0 customer service and will just hold your funds at the drop of a hat with no ability to resolve in a timely manner. I guess if you enjoy your funds being held hostage, by all means use this fraud of a financial institution, but you’d probably be better off using BoA or just keeping your money in a safe at your house. In short, this credit union is 100% shady, beware storing your funds at this “financial institution”. Edit: Due to Velocity being unreachable and now the snow storm. I had to wait until Tuesday night my time to speak with them. I have been without food and lodging for days mow, and will be for another day. These people are holding thousands of dollars hostage which has caused me to go homeless and hungry. I honestly have no recourse until one of these muppets is available again. I repeat, never use them!

My vehicle was repossessed and was up to date on payments and my personal account was technically late even tho I made payments to get ahead of it. This credit union has made it extremely difficult to resolve the issue and recover my vehicle. Despite my repeated attempts to make payment and bring the account back into good standing they refused, payments were not accepted and they only wanted a 10k loan on top of my 1.6k car loan. The process has been unnecessarily delayed at every step. Each time I contact the credit union, I receive different and often conflicting information from representatives. When I ask clarifying questions, the responses were frequently passive-aggressive and unhelpful. From Nazia, Mallory and other reps.I also attempted to speak with a manager in the collections department. I missed one return call from a John Mackey, but despite multiple follow-up attempts, I have not received another call back. Additionally, the credit union has taken two to three business days between each step of the process, further delaying my ability to retrieve my vehicle. These delays have continued even though I have been actively trying to resolve the matter. The lack of communication, inconsistent information, and slow processing have made this situation far more difficult than necessary. Based on my experience, it appears my efforts to recover my vehicle are being avoided or delayed, raising concerns that the vehicle may instead be sent to auction. This has been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would strongly caution others before banking here. If you don’t take it from me look at the other reviews. The only people that have been helpful and professional are Cody and James. I strongly feel like velocity is running the collections side of the credit union unchecked. Certain rude and unprofessional employees should be more professional and understanding while a person goes through these tough times.

Warning!!! Do not take your money here unless you want to be randomly cut off from your money for several days at a whack. See Velocity has a hair trigger when it comes to cutting off your debit card if they suspect fraud. The only problem is they suspect fraud with everything. Yesterday wife went to Marshall's in the town we live. However, stupid Velocity thought it was fraud and declined the transaction even though we had plenty of funds. They sent me a text asking if I made the purchase. I said yes and the text said my card was now free to use. However, it wasn't. The card was still declined everywhere and because Velocity is such a crappy 2-bit operation, they were closed on the weekend forcing me to go 2 full days without access to my funds. Folks, this isn't the first time either. Once, they refused a Venmo purchase for work to be done on my house. There I was, in front of the workers trying to explain why they weren't getting paid. Again, it was weekend so they weren't open for assistance. Fortunately, I knew one of the guys and was allowed to pay them later after I called up and cussed out Velocity. I went with them thinking I was sticking it to the man but in actuality, I was limiting my own services with a crappy bank that humiliates me through declined purchases even when I have the funds. I will happily go back to a major bank that at the very least, is open on weekends. Avoid this place like the plague!
