If you need a financial institution that respects legal obligations and provides accountability, avoid this credit union. Their refusal to honor valid Power of Attorney (POA) documentation caused serious harm to my father’s estate. Unlike major banks with legal departments (e.g., Chase), this credit union lacks the expertise and structure to handle escalations properly. Key Issues: 1. Failure to recognize and act upon valid POA documentation. Obstruction and lack of transparency during estate administration. 2. Denial of reasonable access to account information for fiduciary oversight. 3. Refusal to provide requested documentation promptly and transparently. 4. Failure to prevent unauthorized withdrawals by a co-agent acting in bad faith. 5. Inconsistent and contradictory responses regarding account beneficiaries. 6. Dismissive, misleading, and unprofessional communication practices. 7. Potential fabrication or post-dated creation of beneficiary documentation. The individual involved, Iban Torres (AVP of Operations), did not honor a legal POA, which enabled misappropriation of funds by another POA holder. This negligence was preventable and underscores why a credit union without a legal department is a risk for anyone managing complex financial or estate matters. Bottom Line: If you value compliance, transparency, and the ability to escalate issues effectively, choose a major bank with a legal team. It could save you from financial loss and unnecessary stress.

I have been a member for them for over 22 years. Asked for a courtesy card fee of $5 to be waived, as my card was worn out, due to the fact that you have to use it 30 times a month in order to get paid interest and not get charged $9 a month. I take very good care of my card, I’ve had it for a while now and was expecting a better experience, due to my loyalty with them, but unfortunately it did not. Made me feel like just another number, not a long time member. Also, you may want to “thank” your long time members simply by telling us something like “thank you for being a long time member..” or something like that. It doesn’t hurt to make your long time members feel appreciated once in a while.

Terrible customer service. People with attitude not understanding what the customer is asking. If a customer does not understand you, you can continue to explain until they do, just don't get annoyed and give attitude...

the absolute worst bank !! they try to sneak in random charges and fees and refuse to help you when asked ! elda talks over you and michael is very disrespectful and passive aggressive. not only does this bank need to fix their new rules but they need to reevaluate their staff !

I've been a member with them since 1995 back when it was El Paso Employees FCU. The past 10 years, I've noticed how horrible customer service has become. Rarely I will get to speak to a service member who is courteous. Majority of the service reps lack the professionalism and come off arrogant when it comes to answering questions. What changed?? It would be nice to be able to speak in person again to someone who actually wants to represent this credit union with the positive and reliable attitude you all once had. It really feels like your Employees are intentionally trying to get members to find another credit union. Hopefully your leaders will stop and look at who they have representing this credit union.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
