This bank presents itself as being about the community, yet there are no meaningful efforts to educate or inform members. Customers feel overlooked, and that is concerning. Members are the reason FirstLight Credit Union exists, and without them, there would be no employees or institution. Until priorities shift toward member support and transparency, I will be looking at other banking options.

I have been for the last 3 hours to get someone on the phone to get to a loan officer. The call get hung up on or disconnect after waiting a MINIMUM of 40 minutes.. and when I was FINALLY able to get someone. Let me transfer you, ok. ANOTHER 30 MINUTES and then SYSTEM HAVING ISSUES please call again..... I hate this bank. Im not in TX right now so I can't go in person. This has happened other days as well. I'm sick of this.

Customer service is absolutely the worst for this credit union. Trying to go through an auto loan process has been a nightmare. It feels impossible to get in touch with anyone. I was on the phone waiting for 3 hours. Then someone transferred me to nobody and I had to wait again. When I was connected to someone processing my request, a representative, Jennifer, was a little rude to me because I am simply asking for updates on my loan. She kept saying, “Give us some time, give us some time.” Nothing should be this complicated for a standard auto loan. I’m not trying to be a nagging customer, but I have every right to ask for updates and information. This customer service really worries me. I’m not sure if I want to continue with this company if they don’t take my business OR my money seriously.

They were announcing all sorts of help for employees affected by the government shutdown. They were absolutely zero help and made things even more stressful. Closing all accounts and moving on. Horrible service. Go to Navy Fed they will help.

I don’t know who is worse, this bank or the DMV. They have a full waiting room of people and the slowest workers walking around, talking amongst each other, taking their sweet time and NOT prioritizing helping customers.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
