My son is HPD and insisted I put my business here. After reading the negative reviews I'm laughing. It's a Credit Union, not a Bank. Huge difference! All the reviewers who say they are leaving, "Buh Bye!". Every bank charges fees out the wazoo! Not credit unions. My checks have always been direct deposited and then I make a monthly transfer to my savings. Easy, breezy! I have had my accounts here for 30+ years and never had an issue with anyone or any transactions. In fact, they now have new safety features to prevent your account from being scammed or hacked, even when you are you and you're on the phone with them. I don't have all the money in the world (yet), and when I do, I'm putting it here!

I had issues with my bank account, called and had the worst customer service experience of my life by a girl and marianne or miriam. She talked to me as though I was stupid when I tried asking questions trying to understand why I was being charged so much. She was so very inappropriate in the way she was talking to me and refused to be of any help. I could not hear her on the phone and one point and instantly she goes, “yeah i’m not done talking”. My parents have banked with this place for so long and so this was very annoying for us to deal with. I asked to speak to a manager and she goes “do you want me to fix it or no”, I sakd again, “may i please speak to a manager I would appreciate it”, so instead of helping at all she said, “again do you want me to fix it or not” so I asked again. She had me on hold for 10 minutes to come back and only say “the manager named amanda is calling with someone right now she will call you right after”. I tried asking for a call back and never got one, i called again and was FINALLY able to get my problem dealt with and given some actual help from a very nice woman named Laura. I had also requested to speak to a manager on that call to discuss my previous situation with the past call, she said the manager would call me back due to meetings, and I never got any calls. Extremely frustrating that a manager can’t even give me a call back after asking multiple times. It has taken me a total of 3 calls now today and the other day, just to try and get some help with my banking issues. So sad this is how customer service is now.

Poor customer service and misleading practices. I’ve been a member for over a decade and up until today have been a satisfied happy member. 1. HPCU needs to not mislead their members with unfair/deceptive abusive acts or practices I have made several mobile deposits before and once the check is approved the funds are released immediately. I made a mobile deposit on Thursday and the check was approved on Friday. Here it is Saturday and my funds are not released. 2. HPCU needs to communicate and display the policy and procedures in the steps when making a mobile deposit There is no literature/ information/ or communication stating you will have to wait an additional 2 days after the check is deposited before the funds are released. If HPCU would’ve provided this information upon making the mobile deposit I would have drove to the branch cash then deposited the check instead of having to wait after the check was approved for my funds to be released I spoke to a a chat rep, 2 phone reps and a manager named Savanna whom all stated that due to policies and regulations the funds cannot be released until Monday. Which is not true because I’ve deposited a check from the same company in almost the exact amount and once the check was approved the funds were released immediately upon approval. Savanna also stated that due to federal regulations they are unable to make any funds available until Monday nor release the funds now. Again which is not true because of previously released funds upon approval which was immediately after the check was deposited. I asked Savanna can you direct me to where on the website and mobile app where it reads the policy that the check would take 5-7 business days upon approval to process the check for funds to be released? I proceeded to go through the process for a mobile deposit and now where does it state that information. I’m baffled on how a member could be treated this way. Again poor customer service and misleading practices. I’m very disappointed in Houston police federal credit union. At this point I wouldn’t recommend this credit union to any HPD employees nor to your immediate family members.

I’ve used HPCU since my mom helped me establish my first secured credit card and savings account with them over 10 years ago. I have to say, they are always fast, efficient, patient, and wonderful to talk to. I’ve now financed 2 vehicles and a personal loan with them and me being new to a lot of things in the world of finance, the reps have always taken time to explain things to me. Quick responses over email, concerns and questions answered. Also being someone that is new to finance, HPCU has always given me the best treatment when seeking credit. Highly recommend establishing your family with them as soon as you can, the service is amazing and they really do help you the best they can.

We have gone through HPD credit union for loans a few times and have been satisfied, We were extremely satisfied this time with Julie Martinez. She was very professional and extremely helpful in helping us get the loan, she helped us pull up the documentation that was needed for the loan and it was time consuming she was patient and caring. Thanks to Julie Martinez
