I have banked here my entire life, and will continue to use them for my personal banking. However, there was an extreme lack of communication during our construction loan process. I do not recommend using them if you are as first time home buyer or to build.

I have been a primary account holder at East Texas Professional Credit Union. Recently, the bank froze my accounts and applied a $19,000 loan belonging solely to my mother to my accounts, even though I had no connection to the loan and my funds were entirely my own. When I contacted the bank to explain and offered to resolve the debt myself, they refused to cooperate and insisted only my mother could handle it. This caused significant inconvenience, including travel and additional costs. While the funds were eventually returned, the lack of notice, refusal to work with me, and dismissive behavior show a serious disregard for customer rights. I would caution others to be careful and ensure they understand the bank’s policies before opening an account.

They dont care about their customers. They "hold" your money like a thug on the street, then tell you its standard banking procedure and all banks do it. That is a total line of B.S.!!! Go to Austin Bank, in 20 years they have NEVER held one dime of my money.

We recently were in the market for a new car, so we decided to finance locally and chose ETPCU to do so. After getting pre-approved, we found the car we wanted, obtained a purchase order from the dealership that included all of the fees, taxes and our downpayment details. We then submitted this to the bank at which point they drafted the loan agreement that we signed. They paid the dealership, and we took possession of the car. Now, almost 2 weeks later, they contacted us stating they made a clerical error on the contract that left out additional costs and were trying to strongarm us into signing a new contract with higher monthly payments. Once we stated that the Truth in Lending Act protected us in this situation, they conceded, stating we were correct it was an error on their end not an error we caused, but that they would never do business with us again in the future, which is fine, I've never banked with them prior. I do find it incredibly unprofessional that everything was submitted correctly to them from us and the dealership, they made a slight error, then tried to manipulate us into signing a new contract as if we weren't aware of our legal rights with the existing finance contract. I would recommend anyone who banks with them, be financially savvy so the bank doesn't try to manipulate you when they figure out that they left money on the table for themselves.

They charged me late fees after I paid a CC off and refused to remove then put on my credit report. (Only negative on my credit report) They have lost a Vehicle title then told me tough They forgot to release Lein on a title I was buying from someone and it took 6 months and several trips to fix ETPCU has changed and they suck!
