A heartfelt thank you to Capital Federal Credit Union for trusting me under your umbrella. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Mr. Reginald Bluestein for his exceptional professionalism, knowledge, and dedication throughout the entire process. Not only did I successfully fund and close, but I also gained valuable education and insight along the way — thanks to his patience and commitment to excellence. I have a the tremendous pleasure of working with Celeste on my loan. She is highly recommended! She is punctual, extremely responsive, very educated on every product and how it suits her clients best, and all around a pleasure to speak to. I cannot say enough good things about her. Additionally, Capital Federal Credit Union has really put their clients needs first. They have made applying for everything, a seamless process and not to mention they offer the most reasonable rates I have seen to date. They are just amazing! Awesome job Team!!!

WORST Bank experience EVER! I began my home-buying process around July 2024 after being referred to this Monique Palmer by a family member. Because I was relocating a great distance and had to plan a major move from Alaska to the lower 48, I started working with the loan officer well in advance. My initial hope was to use the same person for both lending and realty support to reduce stress, but I was later informed that wouldn't be possible due to licensing restrictions in the destination state. So, I ended up finding a local realtor. From the beginning, I had concerns. Despite submitting many personal documents, I often had to resend the same files multiple times. Communication was inconsistent and sometimes contradictory—what I was told over the phone would differ from what I saw in follow-up emails. One particular issue stood out: I was asked to provide a written letter explaining an address from over 20 years ago. While I understand thorough documentation is part of the process, this felt excessive compared to my first home purchase where nothing similar was required, despite having multiple recent addresses. I was also surprised to find that some sensitive forms—like the one authorizing appraisal charges—were not available via DocuSign, even though other forms were. Instead, I was instructed to print, sign, and email this form, which required including full credit card details. For a company that uses electronic signing for nearly everything else, this felt like a security gap. The form also lacked a space to include a signing date, which raised further concerns about how and when it could be used. Although I constantly submitted bank statements, a link was sent authorizing access to my bank intuitions which I did hoping I wouldn’t have to submit anymore statements but Nope, I still had to submit even though I authorized it. During the underwriting process, my name was spelled incorrectly in formal emails by the Dr. Marva Brewingtons, and when I pointed it out, I received no response. While this may seem minor, attention to detail is important when handling something as critical as a home loan. Errors like these made me question the overall quality control. The closing process itself was more difficult than it should have been. Despite everyone knowing the timeline in advance, there were delays in sending wire instructions. The week prior to closing I constantly reached out for proper instructions and nothing was provided. The actual time of closing is when lender asked about funds although I had been trying since the following week to accomplish this. Some of the documents I was presented with seemed unexpected—like a pre-filled membership application for unrelated banking services I had clearly declined earlier in the process. I had to reiterate in person that I would not be signing anything not related strictly to the mortgage. Post-closing, the issues continued. Attempts were made to connect my mortgage to a checking account I had not authorized for use. I had to intervene to prevent payments from being processed incorrectly. When I reached out for support, Townsend Hook (he too misspelled my name) mentioned he tried calling even though I had made it clear I preferred written communication for documentation purposes. In the end, I resorted to using money orders because I no longer trusted how my account data was being handled. This process has taken an emotional toll. As a combat veteran, I value structure, transparency, and respect for personal boundaries. This experience fell short on all three. I never encountered these types of problems with my first home purchase, even when my credit wasn’t as strong. After closing, I immediately began receiving a large amount of promotional mail at my new address, much of it tied to this lender. I had barely moved in, yet my mailbox was full of marketing material. I delayed writing this review until my home was officially sold because I wanted to share my full experience without interference. And yes, I'm counting down to refinancing with a more reputable institution.

It was great meeting Nina today. She helped me set up my loan account and assisted me in answering questions I had pertaining to my loan. I will update my rating overtime, depending on the service provided moving forward.
