New revised post. I have fresh thoughts regarding this institution. I applied for a very small personal loan last Friday, June 2nd. I was told my the loan offucer that a letter of hire from my new employer would be sufficient. I have a cosigner as well. Its been 7 days and i have not heard boo fron CU of Mesquite. They were to make a decision within 2 to 3 days. This is not the only thing wrong with them, just another unprofessional situation with them. This is an old post when Wanda was there. I have banked here for years. Ms. Wanda is patient, kind, and helpful. Whenever I have an issue with my debit card or anything, she is always there to help. The ladies that work the counter are very friendly. This credit union reminds me of the banks back in the 70's and 80's in Amarillo, when I was a kid; Friendliness and a feeling of trust go a long way. The only downside so far is the company the CU uses to watch for fraud protection. Once they get rid of that company, or fix them, I see no problem at all. Y'all keep up the nice work, and thank you.

Let me start off by saying that the employees at this location are friendly and helpful when I am having issues. That being said, some things can be frustrating. 1. Always having issues with the chip in my debit card. I have to continously insert or swipe the card about 90% of the time when I am making a purchase. This happens in almost all store locations or restaurants I buy from. One time I even had to leave my groceries as the card was not working. 2. Being put on hold for such a long time that phone ends up hanging up. 3. This one is personally my opinion, but, the new online banking update is not my favorite and confuses me a lot. I know this one has more options but I still miss the old one. I don't remember getting a preauth hold in the old banking site. 4. Fraud Department blocking certain places. I was unable to purchase something I needed earlier this year with my debit card, and by the time I input another card the item was no longer available. These are not reasons that make me want to close my account but they are a bit frustrating.

My husband and went to apply for a loan about 3 months ago at this location. First of all when we walked in the building one of the front desk girls was putting on her makeup, didn't even stop or asked if we needed help. One of the other girls did, we were told that the application for loans was only online, ok so we did . Time passed about one 3 weeks later , my husband received an email requesting more information in regards to the loan we were asking for. We submitted what they needed. After 2 weeks of not hearing from them my husband finally called and their response was " your application is not the only one" there was a waiting list! After that we just decided to go with Texans Credit Union, best service and we were approved right there and then, we got a loan from them of 60,000 . Mesquite credit union needs better customer service and a better lending system as well .

24 years there. I've been with other financial institutions during that time and Mesquite Credit Union is the best. This is a place where employees are personable, professional and accommodating. They do not create the feeling of the big cooperate banking industry rolling over the little guy. Very few bad experiences there in my 24 years of working with them. I've never been super rich or anywhere close, but they have, nontheless, always treated me with great respect, courtesy and kindness.

Had an account here since 2002. In 2008, they gave me a small loan to buy back an old truck I'd previously owned. I was thrilled, as my credit wasn't the greatest. Fast forward to today....in December 2016, I was involved in an accident (in that old truck I'd bought back) and my truck was totaled. After being paid by the other guy's insurer, plus savings of my own, I bought a truck for cash. Put 1 year and 12000 miles on it, and the timing chains became an issue. I went to MCU and applied for a new loan. This was after filing for Chapter 13 in 2012 and converting it to Chapter 7 in 2015 to get out from under a house we'd bought. They not only approved me to finance a new vehicle, but they gave me a GREAT interest rate. I will never bank anywhere else, period. These folks take care of their account holders. Highly recommended. I now have a beautiful 2016 Jeep Cherokee in my driveway, and they made it happen for me.
