WORST CREDIT UNION EVER! Offered no assistance or support in a time of need. They did not protect me and my assets. This practice should be illegal. I used TAP for a construction loan. After 4 months of building, my builder completely abandoned the project. I continued to pay my construction loan payments on time to TAP, while no work was being done at my property, while I took legal legal action with my builder, while I updated and informed TAP of this situation. Once the 1 year time frame rolled around, still in legal action with the builder, unable to qualify for a traditional mortgage since the home is “incomplete”, still no work being performed at the property; I file for an extension on the construction loan, paid fees associated with it, it was approved and bought me two months. Not a big help. And once those two months ran out, I filed for another extension, still in legal battle with builder, still unable to get a traditional loan because the house is not completed, still no work being done by the builder, and still paying for my interest only construction loan payments on time to TAP.... request was denied, and they threatened foreclosure. Ultimately, I, who have OUTSTANDING credit, who has paid EVERY bill on time, ALWAYS, was not going to allow my property to foreclose. I still could not qualify for a traditional mortgage since the house was not completed. I had no other choice then to seek an alternative loan that ended up costing me an exorbitant amount of funds that was not conducive to getting through this already costly, and frustrating situation. Also, TAP authorized payments to the builder without proper documentation on the draw requests, and failed to inspect the build as promised upon engaging in the construction loan. They could have aided in following the appropriate process, so the builder was required to properly finish the work before collecting their draw. It’s insane to me that when you do the right thing, the worst things can happen to you. Shame on you TAP, for not doing what you “said” you would do regarding the construction loan authorization process, and for not offering any resolution or protecting my assets....
