UPDATE: See latest April review listed below. I’m a victim of this credit union. ________________________________ In January, without my knowledge, InFirst Federal Credit Union reported to the three Credit Bureaus that I had missed a credit card payment. My credit rating dropped from 800+ to 645. To me this is a costly mistake. This is March and the Credit Union has yet to report their mistake to the Credit Bureaus. When I called InFirst, the representative to inquire about the negative report that I received, she simply said the payment wasn't received. No, I will look into the problem etc......nothing. I called the Credit Card company and I was immediately informed that the January payment had been received but the payment had been applied to the card I had recently reported misplaced. I called InFirst again and told it what the Credit Card company had told me. I have made several calls to InFirst but as of today, March 18th, my credit rating stands at 649/650. ________________________________ March 20th Update This morning I received an email from InFirst. The email contained a detailed explanation of the misplaced payment and the actions taken to correct the problem. Also, an apology was included. I didn't accept the apology because of the lengthy process to resolve the issue and the lack of "interest" of my problem from InFirst agents I spoke to. I truly believe InFirst reponse to me was the result of my negative review here. ________________________________ April 2026 Update Again my credit card payment was misapplied to the "old, closed" credit card. How can new payments be made to an old, closed account? Instead of dealing with this recurring problem, I asked the agent to close all accounts associated with my name. I then learned that there was an outstanding balance showing on my mortgage. No, that wasn't correct. I sent proof that my mortgage had been paid off. I felt like a victim in an unsolved crime created by my credit union of over 30 years. I informed the agent that Credit Karma shows a higher credit card balance that I actually owe. The reply was we only report to Credit Karma on a a monthly basis. Not, I can or will report the correct balance today to Credit Karma to help correct the issue that we, InFirst created. Hopefully, all InFirst accounts have been closed and I will never do business with this Credit Union again. Lou

Came in to deposit a check for a different credit union and everyone was super friendly. Quickest Check deposit experience I’ve had in nova.

My first time coming to this location and if you want to receive service BEYOND EXCELLENCE, this is the Bank for you. I have been Blessed to have Carla for my Bank Teller. The approach to her counter you just feel appreciated. Carla us knowledgeable, caring, kind, thoughtful, great listener, determined to resolve any issues and very patient. I had multiple transactions and she took care of each one making sure before I left all my needs were met. Infirst Bank made the most valuable decision in hiring her. Carla has all the qualities of being a Manager because every employee would strive daily to provide the customer service that Carla provides. Thank you Carla for being the most Amazing Bank Teller in Northern Virginia

They have moved to another location next to 5 Below. Listen to Google Directions; they are correct. I didn't know they had moved to a small location. Very friendly atmosphere, you can get caught up in the abience and forget to complete your deposit ticket...LOL! All in all, a nice place to dash in if you ever need to. Thank you.

Do NOT work with this federal credit union. They are incredibly unhelpful and unprofessional. My card was compromised and when I spoke with a representative, they informed me that I would have to pay $45 to have it expedited. After voicing my concerns over having to pay to expedite my debit card, while my account is completely unusable, I was put on a 10 minute hold. I was then told that “Angela will call you if it’s NOT going to be expedited.” And to expect my expedited card to arrive via FedEx within the next few days. That was on Monday, 4/21. Today, 4/24 I called them back to ensure that my card was being expedited. Not only was it NOT being expedited- it wasn’t being sent at all. Thank goodness I had the wherewithal to follow up with them, because they obviously do not care about their longtime members (nearly 25 years). Completely unacceptable for a federal credit union to treat any member in this way.
