Member since 2020 with a car loan. The day I went to trade in the car I called agfed to get the payoff amount. It was emailed to me and the car dealership. This was November 15th 2025. This morning, Jan 2nd 2026, I got a notice that my credit score went down 50 points. I looked at my report and it said agfed credit union states I missed 2 payments. In the middle of December I received a call from agfed saying that I need to make my payment. The car was sold and paid off!!!!!!! I had to jump through hoops to retrieve the payoff email and call the dealership to see if they didn't send the payoff. They did and I submitted the email. The agfed lady said ok, you're paid off and in good standing. Now, my report says otherwise and it's my problem, again. I mss the old days where when someone says you're good, it actually means you're good and they don't mess with your credit due to an error that they made! Stay away from this company!!!!! Nothing but headaches from the beghinging! The FTC was notified and they'll get another slap on the wrist but now I'm set back 3 years of rebuilding my credit score because I trusted this credit union and they screwed me over! Stay away! Read the other reviews and make an educated decision when trusting these people! They're no good!

Member and AgFed credit card holder since 2000. I was eager to explore the new website sinced the old was was so poor. When I accessed it July 2025, discovered my credit card had been closed with no explanation. I always paid the full amount on time every month. I called member services who couldn't tell me why my card was closed and that it could not be reactivated. This hit to my credit score is infurating. CSR told me a senior member would look into it and call me back. I never received a call. I've never been impressed with the service at AFCU and this was the nudge I needed to close my acount. I transferred all my money out and completed & emailed the Authorization to Close Membership document. Thought I was done with AFCU, but in Sept 2025 I received a new AFCU credit card in the mail (WTH?!). I again called member services who said I should not have recieved that credit card. Was also told my AFCU account was still active (WTH??!!). To close it, I would need to AGAIN complete and email an Authorization to Close Membership form. This is absolutely maddening and very concernoing considering the level of incompetence when it comes to something as serious as personal finanaces.

Just found out I was denied a very small Home Equity loan while I am in the middle of a divorce and trying to finalize the financial aspects. Six months ago I had a signed settlement, but since the legal proceedings were not finalized my application was denied. Now I have a count granted award, and that is still not enough, the requirements keep changing. Also, I had to login to learn I was denied this loan, with no message even sent, when I have been waiting to make sure my finances were set prior to finalizing the transfer of my home. Perhaps just like my marriage, it is time to end this farce of a relationship with this institution.

Terrible new agfed banking processing system. Since the change on 7/15/25, I've experienced a double payment to my bill pay vendor; recurring withdrawal payment to a website service (which I didn't sign up for); two late payment to my bill pay vendors (due 1st, payed on 2nd of month); processed my debts before processing my deposits, resulting in no funds available, therefore, causing my late payments to two vendors. Prior to new system, Agfed always process my deposits first, than payed out my debts, which would have not resulted in no funds available. I was told that I needed to call my vendor for a double charge refund, why, my vendor didn't cause the error. Told to start paying my vendors on the 2nd of the month, even though my payments are due on the 1st of the month. This is crazy. I will be changing my banking needs to another bank, as Agfed new system is really bad.

Applied for a loan because of government shutdown. They questioned something that was cleared out on bankruptcy more then 10 years ago. Its okay for them to take you money but not help when life situation happens. Stay away they are heartless liars!!!!
