Finally broke the chains and left this dreadful credit union after 20 years of being a member. They treated me like dirt in the Lynnhaven branch when someone tried to illegally take money out of my checking account, and needed to completely reopen new accounts. Very much has the vibe of a big bank now rather than a credit union that cares. I would recommend any other credit union than Chartway. If I could give this place zero stars, especially for that awful AI it now has, I absolutely would. This place has gone downhill and most of the people on the phone are third-party folks who cannot help with anything

If I could give zero stars I would. Customer service is not their priority. I was told they had issues with their payment platform and that payments didn't process. I resubmitted the payments for an auto loan payoff. They removed the money from my checking account, but a week later, they still haven't posted all of it to the auto loan. Despite saying they can see the payments were made, their "back office" can't seem to figure it out. Somehow, they have managed to lose over $8,000. Seems like a simple task for a bank to keep up with money.

I've been a member of Chartway for nearly 30 years... and I wouldn't bank anywhere else! I just had some fraudulent charges on my account. Aaron went above and beyond to resolve them, issued my new card, and noticed that I qualify for an upgraded account type! He kept me posted on the process and provided me with exceptional customer service! I will be a Chartway member for life!

Worst credit union I have ever dealt with. Thier whole business model is structured around taking advantage of people.
