It is unfortunate to have to write a negative review because I support all things union; however, within the last two(ish) years (2024 to 2026), the AFL-CIO EFCU has had the WORST customer service a financial institution can have. I have tried to be so very patient. The moment you need assistance with your debit card, checking account, and/or savings accounts, just forget it. It is painstakingly awful to get issues resolved. The technology is so beyond outdated. Would strongly encourage exploring other credit union options. Over the years, I have used the lending services without much issue.

Great rates but the customer service is awful. The only reason I keep my account open is because I have no choice but to save money because even the most basic transactions are too dfficult to perform due to their antiquated systems.

This has to be the worst credit union in the history of credit unions. It has been severely understaffed and customer service is terrible. Basic transactions are not easy to accomplish, the ATM is always down, and staff is only helpful when you are getting a new loan. Myself and several of my co-workers have moved most of our money elsewhere-especially for day to day needs. Unless you need a loan and they are offering the best rate. STAY AWAY! Save yourself the headache.

I am an AFL-CIO credit union member and these little signs in the window are quite disturbing to a good portion of Credit Union members. I’m sure if I were to display a Republican sign, I would be warned to take it down.

The technology is outdated. Especially when it comes to fraud protection. I went through four ATM cards in less than a two-year time frame. It seems as if the credit union doesn't have fraud protection to stop fraudulent activity from occurring. When I mentioned the issue to Chet Connor was told I could drive 15 miles to a Co-Op bank to withdraw funds and do it every day if needed. This level of unprofessionalism is undaunted and beyond insensitive. I haven't even mentioned the sometimes unresponsive or rude bank tellers. Avoid this credit union at all cost.
