Terrible Experience Senior Loan Officer Dedrick and his manager, Florence Lopez, were awful to work with. If you come across them, do yourself a favor—go somewhere else. They don’t follow up, don’t seem to care about their clients, and made the whole process way harder than it needed to be. On top of that, Florence Lopez was unbelievably rude to me and my husband—even laughing in our faces with a completely unprofessional attitude. It was beyond disrespectful. Honestly, this bank as a whole isn’t a great option if you’re looking for a loan. The quote we got was completely wrong, and you can definitely find better service and accuracy elsewhere. Look around before committing—you’ll thank yourself later.

BFSFCU in years past paid a "supplemental dividend" in January, which partially made up for the below-market interest it paid on deposits. In January 2024, they quietly stopped this practice. I only realized this had happened over a year later. It turns out they still paid the dividend, but cut drastically down on the members who were eligible. As a result of this member hostile action, I am moving my high-balance accounts out with all deliberate dispatch. I was appalled to read the chorus of one-star reviews but I would have to agree with them in principle. Look around at other credit unions before selecting BFSFCU as I am sure you can do better. We have been members for over 50 years, and it has been a downhill slide with them.

Terrible institution with very fishy practices. I put money in my account 2 days later it was gone. They literally emptied the account. They explained to me today that they can take money out of my account at anytime even though it was sent to collections. The representative told me I should not have been late on my account I should not have signed. too bad so sad basically. It was a very uncomfortable interaction. The crazy thing is that if I want to pay this debt now the bank told me I have to pay the collection agency. I am still confused about the situation this bank will steal from you in anyway possible and call it legal. (since they have explained to me that there is nothing I can do about them taking my money without my permission let’s start here)

Took over a month to get an account setup. I received an email saying my account application was about to expire and when I reached out to them they said I had to wait and ignored how my application was going to expire. Called them a second time and someone finally helped to forward my request. Just got off the phone after calling for help and the representative had me on speaker phone and I couldn't hear what they were saying. Trying to transfer money out of my savings account and the only way to do this is through a wire transfer (Zelle is only available for checking accounts. In order to do a wire transfer, you need to activate something in their system so after sending a request you have to wait a week. I tried opening a checking account right then to use Zelle, but you also have to wait a week for somebody to approve your application. Overall takes a very long time to get anything done. Was trying to transfer money out of my account so I can move to a different financial institution with higher APY's.

I have been a loyal and longtime member. For a year now I notice horrible and unprofessional customer service. I had an issue in September when i was locked out of my account due to password issue. I called the customer service number and i was put on hold for 20 minutes. When the lady came on she put me on hold for another 20 minutes as she tried to do something. when i asked her if she was still with me she said yes. After 45 minutes i asked her again about what's happening. She apologized and said "Ooh i thought you were changing your password. I was waiting for you to tell me that all is ok". I was mad-mad-mad-. I asked for her supervisor who came in and resolved the problem in less than 5 minutes. I complained to him but he sounded as though this was not a big issue. I did not receive any follow-up apology or explanation as to why it took me more than an hour ---all wasted.
