Impossible to get a hold of a representative over the phone. They will either send you to voicemail or just let it ring for over 5 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Absolute worse ghetto experience! They have the audacity to put overdraft protection on my account without my consent. The website and the app doesn't work! Nobody picks up the phone! This was the most outdated, irresponsible experience I have ever had. Please do not consider.

I had the same horrible experience that another reviewer already described. HUD FCU started charging me $5 every month for inactivity, without ever notifying me in advance that they will start doing that, during the pandemic when people can't go transact in the building. I sent emessages and emails asking them to fix the situation, never heard back, just got charged yet another inactivity fee again AFTER I've been trying to reach them and "reactivate" my account and they just ignored me. So that's the strategy, simply don't respond to customers - this way you can keep their account inactive so you can basically steal more money in inactivity fees. I've never experienced such poor level of customer service with a financial institution.

It's been my experience that the customer service here ebbs and flows. It can be great with one person and challenging with another. Every credit union has great rates and are much easier to do business with. The on-line banking system is just a bit antiquated but the products are great.

I have banked here since I started working at HUD at 1991 and find all the services excellent. The financial products are competitive and accessible. The staff are all hardworking, and I always get the answers I need ASAP. Highly recommend.
