If I could give zero stars I would. This company is not here to help the communities it serves it’s here to rip off everyone that lives within their service areas so their stock holders can drive fancy cars and live in big houses. While their customers are barely scraping by to keep the light on or save money for a small trip to make memories with their kids. Tell me how 600.64 for 1 month for a 3 bedroom double wide is justifiable to charge for electric.

Price gouging monopolizers. Every year they TRIPLE our bill in winter and blame it on the heater and 'holiday lights'. My house is less than 800sqft, no central heat, use a space heater than isn't even on most the day. I have exactly 4 stands of holiday lights inside and out that are off 98% of the time. Yet in the summer I run two large window AC units almost 24/7 and my bill is less than $100. My bill jumped $100 from October to November this year despite the fact I used the exact same power, heaters, lights, etc. You don't need to be an electrical engineer to figure out that the math doesn't math. These "smart meters" are a scam and a joke, they just make up whatever numbers they want. Avista needs to be shut down and more power companies available for people to choose from.

Beware of Avista Corp! Needed to add meters to 3 structures on my property. Paid them $20k to do the work. They crushed a sewer line causing $4k damage and we lost the sale of this property because of it. In the end, they openly admitted fault for the damage from their crew, but said they weren’t liable because a fine print clause releasing them from liability from damage they cause. The sad part is, if they had told us they had damaged line, which was very obviously done in the trench they dug, we could’ve easily fixed it (but they backfilled and told nobody hiding their damaged work), but it cost a tremendous amount of money to fix after the fact. They are a good example of corporate greed, a monopoly, and in this instance, I will take them to court, but I can only imagine other people in the situation who may not have the money to deal with a big corporation. I definitely will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General as well as they need to be held accountable. 20+ year customer with multiple properties… beware of Avista and their poor business practices…

I moved, tried to get off my old address online, it wouldn't work so I called and tried to cancel service. All avista has done is transfer whatever balance I was charged for after trying to stop service at my old address to my new address. I will not be paying for a service I tried to cancel or paying for a service that was not rendered to me.

Jackie was so incredibly kind and helpful to me helping me to renew my energy discount while I am going through stage 4 colon cancer, she went above and beyond and is a great employee at Avista, I appreciate her a lot
