Martinsburg VA credit union is not keeping up with current banking trends. They lack the capability of making a debit card in-house. Therefore, shopping on line can't be done unless using a credit card. Many online shopping stores can't tie into your checking account at this VA. Also, waiting for a debit card to be snail mailed takes two weeks or longer. Recently my debit was compromised and when I called the credit union they not only said it would be 12-14 days before my new card came, they couldn't even give me the numbers needed to use it on line. Today is day 14 (those are business days I'm counting. I also didn't count the afternoon I called or the following day, figuring it would take 48 hours to be posted). I'm still waiting. In the meantime, I've lost my Amazon prime account, Kindle Unlimited, all my monthly product shipments, etc. That could be tolerable if they could give you the card info immediately. There is also no method of depositing a check unless you drive to the bank. Other banks make deposits when you send a picture of the check to them. I have cataracts so severely limit my driving and have mobility issues, so I rely heavily on Instacart, pharmacy delivery, etc. Impossible without a debit card. I do not have credit cards and would not use such cards for these items anyway. So, effectively I have been barred from accessing my funds. While losing my account will be no hardship to the credit union, losing several dozen accounts like mine due to lack of 21st Century services, will be a hardship.

Watch out for those fees! They drained my share savings account with dormant account fees, every last penny. Thanks, Sherry!π They take care of folks' money real well.

Do not bank here ! They are rude and will charge hidden fees . Systems are down and you canβt check your account . They say they will waive overdrafts but charged double . Horrible customer service since my grandfather passed away !

I had a great experience with this facility when I was living there AND when I moved. I want to give a shout out to Roxanna and other staff members there who went out of their ways to assist me. Thank you so much for your quality services.
