I went in asking about an auto loan lady just said we can't do that with your income. So I went to verve and they looked at other options and were very kind and helped me also got approved by them so I will not be going back to FDL credit union.

99% of the staff are always welcoming and great and are ready to help you! There is that one employee who is snobby, judgmental, and seemingly has no patience for older people who have to move at a slower pace. Each time I come in, I can tell she is dreading the conversation to be had. Please help her find another job. 99% of you are great, remove the 1% and it would be 100% better.

They had a system upgrade which has been a system downgrade in so many ways. They claim it was because people didn't follow directions, but that is only part of the problem. They are unwilling to own or acknowledge the problems with the system that are not related to enrollment. Some of my accounts didn't link in their new system properly and I needed to come in and get it fixed. This was not because I entered my information wrong. My credit card information has been unavailable since the conversion. Three weeks later, they still are struggling to acknowledge that the new system can not operate properly and does not provide the modern banking services. Instead of owning the issue, they keep posting that the conversion is complete. If it was complete I would have access. When I email or come in and request information on when it will be available, they have not been able to give me answers. I have been a member for 33 years and I am so disappointed with their response to this situation. Instead of blaming the members for the issues, the credit union needs to work on taking ownership.

I have had two run ins with Casey S the member consultant. The first time I tried to open an account and she was very snobby and acted like she was better than me. I was asking questions and Casey laughed at my questions and made jokes right to my face. I was very upset but I still became a member because I have heard good things about the fdlcu. Then last night I asked to deposit a check and she said she needs to see my account very rudely. I asked if I would be able to access the money and she proceeded to ask to see my account then she said I wouldn’t be able to access the money for 10 days. I get that it’s how the credit union works but the attitude is unneeded. I’m very unhappy with how she has treated me with my first two interactions at the credit union. Honestly if I could give half a star I would. She’s seriously that rude, and has a very negative attitude.

I’ve been a member here a few times and have had a few car loans with FDLCU and had WONDERFUL experiences. My last, and final time with the CU was anything but. The experience started out great, the loan process was speedy, I was able to have a great experience with the loan officer. Things started to turn when I went for the check for my auto loan. I was purchasing a car out of state. They were skeptical in all the right ways, I appreciated them for it. I get to the dealership 800 miles from home and hand over their check, the dealership wouldn’t take it. They put the WRONG NAME on the check. We called and we got many excuses as they would not reissue a check, do a wire transfer, literally anything to help get us home with the car I was purchasing. They wiped their hands clean when they basically said there was nothing they could do but leave us stranded 800 miles away with no option. The dealer was a certified dealer, credible, and incredibly helpful in getting me in a new loan and on my way with the car. They did end up letting me wire the down payment I originally put down to the dealer, which I was grateful for. The final kick in the pants, when I went to close my account, they decided to keep $5 because I was closing my account within 90 days. I literally only opened it to get the loan, that they screwed up. Hands down the final straw on my dealings with FDLCU.
