I'm normally a big fan of credit unions. However, Iron County Community Credit Union is consistently unable to meet my everyday needs. Yesterday, the ATM at the branch on US 2 was out of money. Today, I tried to deposit a two-party check from my son directly into my account and was told that they do not permit that. The teller told me I needed to go to a Wells Fargo Bank the closest being 90 mi away. I have requested for years that they improve their online banking capacity to no avail. They appear to have significant capital invested into this location and facility however they do not appear to be too interested in meeting the needs of its members.

I am a forgiving person and never needed to cash a cheque immediately or talk to a banker same day. The staff are friendly and do their job, but call ahead if you plan on going in the lobby for anything more than withdrawing and depositing. I want to support local businesses, but I rely more on my bank and credit union over a hundred miles away because the technology and reliability of this credit union could be improved. If you don't work 9-5 or can squeeze in your bank trips Saturday morning because doing anything other than direct deposit requires showing up in person, this is an ok credit union. Hoping electronic services become available, so I can change this the star to a five star.

Love this credit union! Great rates better than you'll find most anywhere else. Customer service is very good at the Mercer location.

I opened an account through them just to have a bank near my house I don’t work in the area. I was laid off for covid and on unemployment. Bank kept taking fees till my account was neg $2 for not using my card enough eventually closed my account and put a negative mark against me in Chex system. They claim to have sent several notices I never received any or I would’ve fixed the problem. I tried to explain my situation to the bank and offered to have my paycheck automatically deposited from my new employer but they are unwilling to work with me. I have a good standing with my long term bank a credit union in Madison,WI. I didn’t need the account but definitely will not be back after how I’ve been treated.
