I’ve consistently had positive experiences at this GECU location. The staff is friendly, professional, and always willing to help when questions come up. The branch is well run, and the business hours make it easy to stop in without feeling rushed. I also appreciate how respectful and welcoming the team has been during visits with service dogs. As someone who works with dogs being trained for service-level public behavior, it’s encouraging to see a business that understands the role of properly trained working animals while still maintaining a professional environment for everyone. Overall, a great branch with a helpful and courteous staff.

I don't live in town but was in need of a cashiers check. I went to Altra where I had a newly opened account w just $5 in the account. The rep was googling their shared branches when he said my cities bank was a shared branch w GECU. I could go there for a cashiers check w funds from my cities account! I drove across town, between parking, walking in, getting the check and leaving? All done in under 10 minutes! Jacksun was kind and helpful. I told him where I banked, gave him my member number, license, how much I needed as a check and who it was payable to. He made the process seamless, thank you Jacksun!

I have banked with GECU since 1999 and just closed my account. Through this they helped me through my first vehicle loan where we got a great interest rate around 3% at the time. I loved the online banking, people who have worked there, and their prompt service when I called. If I still lived in WI or had any intention going back I would not have closed this account. Many thanks for the great service over the years.

If I could give negative stars I would. I was in a bit of a pickle with my house offer. My original lender was giving conflicting information. I reached out to Molly with GECU after a family member who worked with her for years suggested she may be able to help. I was working on short notice and didn't want to be a bother so i left Molly a voicemail. In a panic, I couldn't remember if I left my correct number in the voicemail so i called back and Molly actually picked up. She gave me a very stand offish and annoyed tone as she asked what I needed. I let her know my situation and told her my time frame I was put on. She was obviously annoyed with me but continued to look into helping me. I suggested becoming a GECU member and asked what potential options there were. Molly informed me that she could not offer me any less of an interest rate than my original lender. She stated. AND I QUOTE. "Well it sounds like you just can't afford this place so you need to back out. is that right?" INSENSITIVE. I was shocked by her comment so i told her to have a good day and thanks for her assistance. luckily, I called another Credit Union and they were able to help me get a grant and offered a lower interest rate. If someone can't help me I am absolutely willing to move on and keep trying elsewhere, but Molly's comment was so disrespectful and unprofessional. Obviously someone in that situation is trying everything they can to NOT give up on their dream of being a homeowner. Why would I bother reaching out if I figured I better just give up? GECU clearly does not give their clients confidence or help. I will certainly continue to tell that story to anyone that asks about this inconsiderate company.

Awful credit union. They seem very unorganized and take forever to get back to you. Their secretaries were nice enough but the loan officers were unhelpful and kind of rude. My experience with them makes me thankful I never opened up an account through them. Altra isn’t much better but at least they have free ATMs. I recommend looking into other local credit unions before you ever consider this place
